Welcome to the Feddinch Medical Practice website. Our practice is located within the new Community Hospital in Largo Road. With more than 9,000 patients, it is one of three serving the St Andrews community, and last year was awarded the RCGP Quality Practice Award for the second time. The website is intended to provide some additional support to our normal service and we hope you find it useful and helpful. Don't know where the Community Hospital is? See the map.
Incoming call barring
Will those patients who have telephones which barr incoming calls please note that we are now unable to access a mechanism for returning any requests you give us for return calls. Please advise us at the time of making a request an alternative contact, such as a mobile number.
Extended Hours
The practice opens one evening per week from 6.00 to 8.15. Please note that any appointments made for such sessions are intended for those unable to visit the surgery during the day. Note, too, that the session is purely an appointment based facility - i.e., there will be no repeat prescription service and the duty receptionist will only be able to check you in on arrival.
Swine Flu Latest
The Practice is being constantly updated by the Health Board about the situation regarding Swine Flu in the UK. Preparations for a possible pandemic are well advanced and the Practice has provisional plans in the event of an influenza pandemic. We are now able to offer vaccination to those in the nationally identified priority groups. We will be writing to all those who are eligible and asking you to contact the surgery for an appointment or to let us know if you do not wish to take this up.

For those patients who are interested in Dr Tait's experiences while on his 2 year VSO posting in Cameroon that ended in August 2009, the reports he posted make fascinating reading.
